Description
Accounting Assistant is responsible for supporting the Accounting department with tasks such as data entry, processing and recording transactions, updating the ledger, assisting with audits or fact-checking, and preparing budgets and financial reports. Accuracy, attention to detail, and integrity are essential in this role, as well as strong bookkeeping skills.
To be a successful Accounting Assistant, you should have a solid understanding of basic accounting principles and be proficient with computer software, such as MS Excel or QuickBooks. You should be trustworthy, efficient, organized, and capable of maintaining high standards of accuracy in all tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing support to the Accounting Department
- Performing basic office tasks, such as filing, data entry, answering phones, processing the mail, etc.
- Handling communications with clients and vendors via phone, email, and in-person.
- Processing transactions, issuing checks, and updating ledgers, budgets, etc.
- Preparing financial reports
- And another task assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/College Degree in a related field (e.g., Accounting, Finance, or other related fields). Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Additional education, experience, or certifications and licenses are preferred.
- Proficiency with computers and bookkeeping software, strong typing skills.
- Exceptional time management, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with basic accounting principles.
- Professional demeanour, strong ethical code, and a positive attitude.
